Master Milton Chin is the founder of the Chin Family Southern Praying Mantis - a Chinese martial art. This form of Chinese Kung Fu is derived from the Kwong Sai Jook Lum Gee Southern Mantis style.

Master Milton Chin began his studies of Kung Fu at the age of 7. He studied under "Sifu" Doon Sen in the Hung Gar style and "Sifu" Wun Gum in the Shaolin System. At age 18 he studied under "Sifu" Chin Ho Doon in the Southern Mantis style. "Sifu" Chin Ho Doon was the master who played the most influence on Master Milton Chin's life.

Sifu" Chin Ho Doon was a very educated and artistic man. He traveled to all different parts of the world to exchange knowledge with monks and other masters. He taught Milton Chin that there was no one superior style in Kung Fu. The power of each style on Kung Fu was in how each individual utilized his own knowledge. Master Milton Chin's founding of the Chin Family Southern Praying Mantis was to honor his late "Sifu" and to carry on what his "Sifu" had taught him.

When Master Milton Chin first began his studies under "Sifu" Chin Ho Doon, his heart was not into learning the Mantis style. He was still very much involved with the other styles of Kung Fu. His "Sifu" demanded that he be serious about learning Mantis. At one point, he even advised him to discontinue classes and save his time and money. Master Milton Chin was quite taken back by his Sifu's candidness and his obvious devotion and respect for his art. He thought carefully about his Sifu's advice and spent many hours soul searching.

The more he learned the more he became enlightened to the effectiveness and power of this style. In a short period of time, he not only became one of "Sifu" Chin Ho Doon's top students but his hard work and diligence earned him a place as a Disciple - a rank only a privilege few received.

Master Milton Chin has had many years of experience teaching Hung Gar, Shaolin, and Southern Mantis forms of Kung Fu.

He now concentrates his energies on teaching only the Southern Mantis. Master Milton Chin is often heard quoting his favorite saying:

"Regardless of wherever you go and whatever you do, where there is no heart, there is no expansion".
